The 2024 Nordstrom Anniversary sale dates have officially been released!

  • 6/27: Online preview starts (start building your shopping list!)
  • 7/9-7/14: Early Access
  • 7/15-8/4: Open to the Public

My all-time favorite sale of the year is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, or the NSale. I love to shop for shoes, especially fall booties, high quality coats and jackets, and denim, among other things. I also shop for Tommy during this sale because (a) he hates shopping and (b) men’s stuff is typically pretty expensive. This sale is the best for brands he loves like Peter Millar, Vineyard Vines, North Face, Barbour and more.

My picks from last year’s sale are below. As soon as the preview opens on June 27, I’ll update this post with my picks from this year’s selection.

What time does the Nordstrom Sale start?

There are a few tiers of access:

  • July 9 – Icon members (those who’ve spent $15,000 or more at the retailer in the past year)
  • July 10 – Ambassador members (those who’ve spent $5,000 or more at Nordstrom over the past year)
  • July 11 – Influencer members (all other Nordstrom cardholders)
  • July 15 – PUBLIC ACCESS

Everything you need to know about the 2024 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

The Anniversary Sale happens once a year, and it’s different than most sales that stores promote. When a store has a sale, it’s typically to get rid of last season’s clothes as the new ones come in, and generally after the sale, things will go on final sale to make sure they get out the door. The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is different because they discount brand new styles and pieces for the fall season. And once the sale is over, the prices go right back up to the normal retail value. It’s essentially like a pre-season sale. And it’s sooo good.

In fact, this is one of the most popular — if not THE most popular– retail sales in the country, outside of the holiday shopping season. And for good reason! I’ve gotten some of my all-time favorite pieces during this sale at great prices. It’s like back-to-school shopping as an adult. 😉

There are some unique details to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that you need to know ahead of time.

First, Nordstrom Card holders shop first. As a Nordstrom cardholder, you get to shop the Early Access Sale weeks before the entire public shops. I’ll talk about why I love being a Nordstrom Cardholder below.

For the non-card holders, Public Access Sale starts July 15 and runs through August 4. Then prices for all of the merchandise go up on August 5.

What to expect from me during the sale

Every year, I round up and link my favorite picks from the entire sale. I spend hours looking through the pieces and organizing my finds so that you can shop the sale easily. I publish this blog post when the Early Access Sale starts and then re-publish this same post when Public Access opens. (So bookmark this post! It’ll be updated regularly!!) When Public Access opens, I go back to see what’s sold out, pick new things out, and make sure it’s still helpful for those who haven’t shopped yet.

I also post on my LTK page during the sale to link specific looks. You can follow me on LTK here. Nordstrom Anniversary Sale aside, I would definitely follow me on LTK.It if you ever wonder where my outfits are from. In fact, I always link them there and post exclusive fashion content on that app! So if you don’t know much about LTK, read this post.

What’s different this year?

Nordstrom is giving everyone access to preview the sale on June 27. You can build your wishlist on Nordstrom’s website for easy checkout once you have access to shop, AND Nordstrom will let you know when something on your wishlist restocks (since things will sell out FAST).

Should I become a Nordstrom Cardholder?

Great question. It’s not a deal breaker not to be a cardholder, especially since the sale does become public, but I’ve been a cardholder for years, and I love it. I will say that there are a lot of cardholders and there are lots of pieces sell out during the Early Access Sale.

If you have your eyes on specific pieces AND you shop with Nordstrom regularly, it’s definitely something to consider. (With my background in finance, I’m not one to casually recommend that you open a bunch of credit cards! In fact, this is the only brand-specific credit card I have.) But, if you’ve never shopped the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale before, maybe see what it’s like this year before opening a card.

What if something doesn’t fit (or isn’t great in person)?

One of the reasons that I’m so loyal to Nordstrom is their return policy. They send a free shipping return label in every one of their packages so that you can repack your items and pop them back into the mail easily. No questions asked. It’s almost better than shopping in person because there’s no pressure and you can try your items on in your own home. (Although I DO really want a Nordstrom location in Winston-Salem!!)

So the return policy alone is enough of a reason to shop at Nordstrom.  This sale is on new pieces, and nothing is final sale so you can return anything you don’t love.

My 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks

If you want to see a try-on of some items, you can watch my Try on Haul on YouTube to see the fit and how things move! And I filmed a second Try On Haul with items that came in a later order (including lots of coats and shoes).

Women’s Shoes

This year I wanted to make sure to find some good booties for fall/winter. I wear them with jeans and dresses and I think they pair well with almost everything. Plus, they’re comfortable! You can also see all of my must-have sandals in this post help guide you in your sale shopping if you’re still hunting for summer shoes. See the rest of their sale shoe selection here!

I didn’t try on any shoes when I went shopping in store because I was just so exhausted but I ordered a few pairs online.

Activewear

I always look for Zella items, since the brand is high quality and affordable. Recently, I’ve loved wearing athleisure outfits, so I’m eyeing a few activewear pieces from the sale. This section is full of great finds.

Here’s what I love from the sale this year:

Free People All Star Runsie

This Free People All Star Runsie (also available in all sizes at a BETTER discount at Zappos) was a little out of my comfort zone, but I saw a few women share it while they were pregnant and loved that idea. Since it’s skin-tight, it makes the most sense to wear it when I have an obvious baby bump. I ordered a Medium to wear as my bump grows, but a small would have fit me better now. It runs a little bit small so size up if you’re on the fence. Usually $98, marked down to $64.99.

Zella Anya Ottoman Knit Pullover

I’m wearing an XS in this Zella Anya Ottoman Knit Pullover and runs a little large for an oversized fit. It’s warm and a nice outer layer, but it’s not too thick or hot. $49.99, marked down from $79.00.

My other athleisure favorites:

Jeans

Denim is one of those pieces that I am willing to splurge on since I know they will last for YEARS. It’s so rare to find such great jeans discounted so much. This is a great time to buy some must-have jeans. Make sure to spend some time in the denim section of Nordstrom’s site— it’s good!

Levi Ribcage Ripped High Waist Ankle Straight Leg Jeans

The Ribcage Ripped High Waist Ankle Straight Leg Jeans from Levi are SUCH a great affordable pair of jeans from this sale. I sized up one size because I’m pregnant. They are a little tight when you pull them on but they fit perfectly once they are up. I would get your true size and let them loosen over time since they’re a more rigid fit. I have a size 26. Usually $98, but on sale for $64.99.

See a video review here on LTK where I show all angles.

Kut from the Kloth Kelsey Fab Ab High Waist Ankle Flare Jeans

The Kut from the Kloth Kelsey Fab Ab High Waist Ankle Flare Jeans are my second favorite pair from the sale. Stretchy and comfortable for a growing bump. I sized up to a 4 for pregnancy’s sake, but they run true to size. $72.99, marked down from $109.00. You can see them on me with better lighting in this reel.

Wit and Wisdom Ab’Solution High Waist Itty Bitty Bootcut Jeans

Wit and Wisdom Ab’Solution High Waist Itty Bitty Bootcut Jeans are a perfect affordable pair of flare jeans. They’re stretchy and comfortable and fit is true to size. $58.99, marked down from $88.00. You can see it on me with better lighting in this reel.

Wit and Wisdom Ab’Solution High Waist Ankle Skinny Jeans

Wit and Wisdom Ab’Solution High Waist Ankle Skinny Jeans are a very stretchy black jean. They’re super comfortable, and the waistline is designed to help hold you in, which is a nice perk. They run true to size. These are usually $74.00 and marked down to $44.99.

Other sale denim I’m loving:

Dresses

I was not super impressed with the dress selection this year, but I did manage to find a few great ones. You can also see my must-have styles of dresses here to help guide you in your sale shopping.

Good American Gathered Side Long Sleeve Dress

I ordered this dress specifically to wear with a bump this fall. The stomach ruching is SO flattering, and assuming you’re taller than me (I’m 5’1″), it will fit you even better. It’s just a tad long on me. I ordered a size 1 and it fits true to size. It’s usually $139 and currently on sale for $89.99.

Treasure and Bond Wavy Check Sweater Minidress

This Treasure and Bond Wavy Check Sweater Minidress is such a fun 70s moment that will look so cute with a bump. Wearing a size XS and it runs true to size. $49.99, marked down from $79.00. You can see it on me with better lighting in this reel.

Babysoft Long Sleeve Rib Sweater Dress

I also ordered this dress to wear with a bump this fall. The material is INCREDIBLY soft (hence the name Babysoft, I suppose), and like the black dress above, it would be ideal on someone a little taller than me. Overall, this would make a perfect fall dress with heels, tall boots, or booties. I have a size small and it fits true to size. Typically $128, on sale for $75.99.

Steve Madden Anna Floral Chiffon Dress

This dress is one of my favorite finds from the sale this year. The colors are stunning in person, the high neck is such a nice detail (and would look amazing with your hair pulled up), and the length lends itself to many occasions. The fit is true to size, and I’m wearing an XS. It’s only $58.99, marked down from $99.00.

Steve Madden Pleated Cap Sleeve Minidress

This mini dress comes in 3 colors and is a perfect option for a more casual wedding, church, or any other fun occasion this fall. While I like this orange color, I think I’d rather have the black since it’s more versatile. The fit runs true to size, and I’m wearing an XS. $52.99, marked down from $89.00.

My other favorite dresses:

Tops & Sweaters

You’ll see some basics, some really fun, feminine pieces, and also some really great pops of color! I’d scroll through this whole tops section on Nordstrom’s site since it’s always good to refresh our tops.

Open Edit Mock Neck Rib Sweater

This Open Edit Mock Neck Rib Sweater is my favorite top from the sale so far. I love chartreuse and the shape is different from everything in my closet. I’m wearing an XS and the fir is true to size. It’s $39.99, and typically $59.00.

Open Edit V-Neck Rib Sweater

This light blue v-neck sweater is the PERFECT color. It bright and happy but the shade of blue will still work well for fall. The material is super soft and just really comfortable. The length is slightly cropped, which is always a flattering option for sweaters since they’re usually a little baggy. This is usually $59 and is on sale for $39.99.

Organic Cotton Blend Crewneck Sweater

I got this sweater in a rust color that’s no longer available, but the other colors are great options for fall. I got this sweater in a size small but it fits oversized. You may want to order your usual size – I sized up and kind of wish I’d gotten an XS. This is usually $69 and on sale for $39.99.

Good American Washed Satin Camisole

This top is a GREAT closet staple for years to come, and I wish everyone would buy it. I’m always wishing I had a silky tank like this for date nights or to wear underneath cardigans, and this one has adjustable straps AND you can wash it! I got a size 1 and it fits true to size. It’s a splurge — especially for a cami — but the color and material are gorgeous in person and it’s a classic style so I’ll be able to wear it for years. Typically $115, on sale for $74.99.

More tops I’m loving from the sale

Jackets & Coats

The selection of coats, blazers and jackets this year is probably the best I’ve ever seen included in the sale! Coats and jackets are definitely something I buy at the Anniversary Sale since they’re typically more expensive pieces and I like getting them on sale. And, it’s also a good excuse to get some more fun items now that I have my basic needs covered with outerwear. (I focused on getting basics last year, like a very warm long puffer coat and a lightweight jacket for spring and fall.) Barbour RARELY goes on sale, but there are some amazing Barbour jackets included in this year’s sale.

Elvira Water Resistant Hooded Puffer Jacket

This puffer jacket is one of the warmest coats I’ve ever had. Not only is it a down fill, but the inside is also fleece lined. I love the short length too (I love to have both a short and long coat for winter). I have a size small. Usually $248, currently $179.99.

Vince Camuto Check Two-Button Blazer

This blazer is one of my favorite picks from the entire sale. I love the look of a longer blazer with jeans, and this fit just right. I’m have a size 2 and I think it runs a little small; I’m typically a 0 in jackets so perhaps size up. This is $169.00 full price and marked down to $111.99. You can see it on me with better lighting in this reel. (This Halogen blazer is almost identical and has all sizes stocked if you need a smaller size.)

Other coats I’m loving:

Loungewear

I always wear “real” clothes when I work, even though I work from home (and have for years). But, let’s be honest, since I’m pregnant, I’ll probably end up in loungewear a lot more often this fall. Here are my favorite soft picks from this year’s loungewear sale section.

Hooded Long Cotton Waffle Robe

Do I need another robe? No! But I loved this hooded waffle robe. This is a medium weight and comes in 4 colors (I liked this darker color so that makeup stains won’t show). It fits a little large — like most robes — and I wearing an XS. Usually $125.00, marked down to $84.99.

Other lounge finds I’m loving:

Accessories

A smaller selection but some GOOD stuff.

Pick #1

Snake Chain Drop Earrings – These are the perfect earrings for some fun events I have coming up this fall! Currently sold out, but Nordstrom often restocks earrings so keep an eye out.

Pick #2

Cashmere Scarf – I was in need of a new scarf and was so excited to find this one. It’s 100% cashmere and SO soft. I also love that there’s no fringe on the ends. This is usually $155.00 and marked down to $99.99.

Other favorite accessories:

Beauty

A couple great finds! I LOVE my T3 Curling Iron (you can read my review here) and it’s also included in the sale.

Baby & Kids

My #1 pick from the entire sale is the Doona Carseat Stroller system, so I’m praying it restocks. It was already sold out when I’m shopped early!! Also, BOTH of my must-have strollers are on sale – the UppaBaby Vista and the Thule Jogging Stroller.

Read my review of our UppaBaby stroller here and read my review of the Thule Jogging Stroller here)!

I got a couple of cute tops for Thomas too.

Men’s Clothing

Tommy never shops, and if he does, 99.9% of what he buys is from Duckhead. But, this sale is a great way to refresh his closet with a few items that Duckhead doesn’t carry or for just a little variety. This year’s men’s sale has the best selection I’ve seen yet. There are tons of full suits on sale, shoes, and also great dress shirts. I bought Tommy just a couple basic tees.

Home

There are definitely a few gems in this group, even though it’s a smaller sale section. In fact,I like to have a few nice hostess gifts on hand at my house, and this sale is a great time to snag a few cheese boards for that purpose. I’m also love Barefoot Dreams and they make great gifts so I’m snagging a couple more for that reason.

Don’t forget to bookmark this post and follow me on the LTK app for updates on my favorite picks throughout the sale!

Okay, happy shopping!

The Best Tuckernuck Dresses

My style has changed a good bit over the last decade since I moved from Utah to North Carolina and also as I got a little older. Everyone’s style evolves over time, and in the last few years, I’ve especially started to love southern styles that are colorful, feminine, and slightly preppy. And since shopping and sourcing items for readers is part of my full-time gig here on the blog and Instagram, I spend lots of time scrolling through websites and scouring new arrivals to find great dresses, jeans, tops, shoes and accessories. (There are links below to some of those round-ups so you can find my current favorites in each category, plus a couple other popular fashion posts.)

One of my ALL time favorite fashion retailers is Tuckernuck. I discovered Tuckernuck only a few years ago, but since finding them, I’ve become rather loyal. It was started by friends Jocelyn Moore Gailliot, Madeline Moore, and September Rinnier in a Georgetown garage, and has been incredibly successful since their 2012 launch. The women started the company while hunting for unique gifts, clothes and accessories for the many weddings, baby showers, and dinner parties they were attending. They wanted an easier place to shop (specifically online) for things, since it was taking them hours to find what they were shopping for.

I’ve found that Tuckernuck is exactly that — an online boutique sourced so well that I want to order nearly every item they carry. They make shopping so easy because they only carry the best items from the best brands. They also have amazing hostess and wedding gifts on their website too. It’s truly a one-stop-shop. My favorite items from Tuckernuck are always dresses, though, since they’re an entire outfit all on their own. They have dresses at every price point, for every occasion.

12 Best Tuckernuck Dresses

Today I’m sharing a roundup of my favorite dresses from Tuckernuck for the spring, including casual day dresses, weddings, date nights and more.

1. Chambray Callahan Shirt Dress

I love the fit of the Chambray oversized shirt dress. I’m wearing an XS, and it’s relaxed (especially in the back), but still flattering. Many oversized dresses can look like a tent, especially on my petite 5’1″ frame, but this one still looks polished and put together.

However, the material is sheer, so I tend to wear a skirt slip underneath (or Amazon biker shorts which I like to wear when I’m chasing my son around in a dress). The material is not super soft when it first arrives, but it’s softened with a few wears. And it has pockets!

2. Annie Smocked Dress

I got the White Annie Smocked Dress two years ago. It quickly became my favorite after discovering how comfortable it is. The dress is made with 100% linen. So, it’s lightweight and breathable, and the stretchy smocked bodice front is comfortable and flattering. The puff sleeves are the reason I ordered this dress, and even though I have a petite frame, the sleeves don’t swallow me.

The length is right about my knees (I’m 5’1″), so I could definitely have it hemmed if I wanted to, but I haven’t made it to an alterations shop yet. Plus, since I’m chasing a toddler around all the time, the extra length is nice. If you’re closer to 5’5″ or 5’6″, this dress will be a cute mini length, but still not too short. This is a pull-on style dress, so no zippers. The bodice is really stretchy, so I’d be a great nursing-friendly option too. It’s priced super well since it’s on sale. And while I don’t recommend final sale items often, I can confidently say this is worth the purchase and the sizing is forgiving.

Tuckernuck carries this dress in two colors: white and black (I own both). I paired it with a pair of my favorite flat sandals at the beach, but it’d also be super cute with wedges or espadrilles and a clutch for a date.

3. Navy Sleeveless Charlie Dress

I got the Navy Sleeveless Charlie Dress recently and have worn it a handful of times in only a few weeks. The material is a blend of cotton, nylon, and spandex so it’s crazy comfortable. Sleeveless is my preference in the summer, and the front of this dress has a placket to hide the buttons that go all the way down. This is nursing friendly (even pregnancy friendly) and the fit is roomy and relaxed, but get your true size so the arm holes fit correctly. I have an XS.

4. Lilac Chloe Dress

I got the Lilac Chloe Dress in a recent summer order and WOW I’m in love. I feel like Jackie O whenever I put it on. It’s the perfect blend of sophisticated and polished, but the color and pockets make it fun and easy to wear. It’s the ideal dress for dressy events like a graduation ceremony, special church service, work lunch, etc. I love having something like this in my closet for events where a sundress just doesn’t cut it.

The chest of this dress is snug, so I sized up to a small to account for my bustier chest due to breastfeeding. Keep that in mind when choosing your sizing.

5. Navy Knit Striped Frenchie Dress

This Navy Knit Striped Frenchie Dress is one of my favorite purchases from last summer that I can’t wait to wear when it warms up a tad this spring. It’s boxy but not oversized or sloppy. It’s made with 100% cotton but has a luxe knit feel.

6. Fresher Buds Alice Dress

Top of my current Tuckernuck wishlist is the Fresher Buds Alice Dress. It’s polished, feminine, nursing friendly, and the length makes it so easy to wear around kids (longer dresses are always easier, since you can bend down without worrying!). I plan to style this with these easy nude heeled sandals or pumps.

7. Royal Blue Eyelet Quincy Mini Dress

This royal blue Quincy dress immediately caught my eye. I love the relaxed fit, and I the eyelet detail adds some fun interest. You could style this for the 4th of July and then wear the rest of the summer. I’d pair this dress with flat sandals, heeled sandals, or even some white sneakers like these Tretorns.

8. Royal Shirt Dress

I got this Royal Shirt Dress early in the spring two years ago in a cobalt blue (sadly, no longer available), but comes in so many other great colors. It’s ideal for business casual work wear, church, or just to wear for daily mom life. The three-quarters length sleeves and button down front feel very polished, but the boxy fit keep it casual and comfortable. The material is silky smooth stretch cotton sateen fabric and doesn’t wrinkle easily. And yes, it has pockets.

This dress comes in seven colorways. The solid colors are great for professional settings, but the floral patterns are so tempting. The length is a little long on me, so I got it altered shortly after getting it. (The picture below is pre-hemming.) Keep in mind I’m 5’1″, so if you’re a little taller, it may not need any hemming, and it runs TTS. This dress is right around $200, so it’s an investment, but a worthy one considering how much wear you could get out of it for years to come. It’s a timeless style.

I’ve worn this dress many ways: heels, sandals, and even white sneakers (I favor these Veja sneakers). Throw a baseball cap on, and you’re ready for your kids’ sporting events right after work.

9. Lavender Oxford Harris Shirt Dress

Yet another nursing-friendly (and pregnancy friendly too!) dress option for the spring. I love shirt dresses (always have), and this Lavender Oxford Harris Shirt Dress is calling my name. I love the idea of cuffing the sleeves, popping the collar, and styling with sneakers or loafers for a casual, everyday look. And it will also be PERFECT for dinner out since you could throw on a pair of platform sandals, and you’re good to go.

I’ve been seeing people drape chunky knits over their shoulders when they style shirt dresses, and I’ll have to try that as well.

10. Navy Kate Maxi Dress

I ordered this Navy Kate Maxi Dress within minutes of seeing it on sale during the annual Tuckernuck Sample Sale (which has already happened this year, sadly). Unfortunately, it was far too small, but I’m considering ordering it at full-price now that I have seen it in person and know how much I love it. It’s a perfect nursing friendly option for church, and since it’s navy, I can wear it year round. The midi length is beautiful and classy. I love this polished option for nursing mamas. Size up if you’re on the fence, unless you have a very tiny torso.

11. Green and White Ditsy Floral Matilda Mini Dress

One of the dresses on my spring wishlist is this Green and White Matilda Mini Dress. It’s around $150 (which is decent for Tuckernuck) and it’s nursing friendly, which is a must for me this year. I love the green and white colorway and the textured ruffles. While I used to stray from feminine patterns like this, I now feel so cute when I wear them!

I plan to wear this dress with heeled and flat sandals and even white sneakers.

12. Pink City Prints Rainbow Stripe Zazie Dress

I am totally obsessed with this Rainbow Stripe Zazis maxi dress. It reminds me of summer and makes me so happy! It’s made of 100% cotton, which means it’s breathable and ideal for warmer days. I love that the top is smocked since it makes this maxi dress nursing friendly!

One of my go-to brands for shorts is Madewell. They have a ton of styles, great prices and regular sales, every size under the rainbow (they are extremely size inclusive and have great curvy jean short options), multiple rises, and a variety of colors and washes. If you have the option to drop by in person at one of their stores, you can visit the Madewell Denim Bar, which has an extensive selection of jeans and denim shorts to try on.

With so many options, however, it can be a challenge to figure out how to narrow down which ones are best for your body type and preferences, especially if you are shopping online. In today’s post, I’m sharing a roundup of the best jean shorts, linen shorts, and more from Madewell, along with my thoughts about each. Hopefully this helps you narrow down your favorites or find a new pair to love! They have a cult following for good reason and I’ll get into all of the details in this post.

The Best Madewell Shorts: denim, linen and more

Madewell Jean Shorts

In the past, the issue I had with Madewell jean shorts was the sizing discrepancy. From pair to pair, I was anywhere from a 23 to a 25, which was super frustrating. However, last year (2023), it seemed like they corrected that issue because everything fit true to size. Not everything I ordered last year is still available, so I just placed another Madewell order that includes a few pairs of this season’s shorts. I’ll be sure to add my thoughts on fit and sizing below, once my order arrives.

I will note, however, that I tried a pair of dad jean shorts from Abercrombie this spring and absolutely love them (see how I styled the shorts in this video). If I was going to tell you to pick just ONE pair of denim shorts to buy this year, I would be those. Love you Madewell, but Abercrombie Dad Shorts have you beat!

The Perfect Vintage Mid-Length Jean Short

First, the The Perfect Vintage Mid-Length Jean Short. I was first introduced to Madewell’s Perfect Vintage style over 5 years ago when I was shopping for some non-skinny jeans. I LOVED the fit of the pair I found, so I quickly ordered the shorts version last year. I love that the length is considered “mid”. Not too short, not too long. The inseam is 5″, which feels perfect for an almost-40-year-old mom.

These are a high-rise (my preference), and made with just a touch of stretch. I also appreciate that the fit isn’t tight against the thigh. While they fit TTS last year, the reviews on this year’s shorts say they run just a tad small, so keep that in mind. If you like your jean shorts to be a bit baggy, I’d recommend sizing up in ANY pair you get.

The main difference between these and the Relaxed Jean Shorts (since the Perfect Jean Shorts also have looser and longer fitting styles this year) is the stretch. These are made with a blend of cotton and elastane, so Madewell considers them “comfort stretch”. While this isn’t my preference, I have many friends who love a stretchy denim short, and to their point, they really are comfortable, just not my preference.

I’m eyeing the Fitzgerald wash too!

Relaxed Mid-Length Denim Shorts

I ordered a pair of the Relaxed Mid-Length Denim Shorts last year and loved them. They’re similar to the Perfect Vintage style but they sit lower on the hips and have zero stretch. They’re made to have a relaxed fit, but if you size down, they will sit a bit higher on your hips. This year’s styles are in a few different washes, but the Wengler Wash: Step-Hem Edition is my favorite because it reminds me so much of the Agolde Parker Long shorts. These also have a 5″ inseam, which is perfect for us moms.

The photos below are from last years’ colorway which is currently unavailable.

Patch-Pocket Denim Shorts in Earlwood Wash

I ordered the Patch-Pocket Denim Shorts last year and LOVED them. The front pocket detail is so fun, and it feels more polished than most denim shorts. One thing to note is that they run small, and it’s important that you tuck your shirt in to the front of these so that it’s obvious your shorts aren’t on backwards! One huge selling point for this pair is the A-line cut which gives the leg opening a ton of space. If you hate when your shorts hug your thighs, you will love this style.

The inseam on these shorts is shorter than the styles above (3″), but the polished front pockets make them feel a more appropriate for a mom than a pair of 3″ cut-offs. Size up!

The blue wash is currently unavailable, but I love the white version too.

Madewell Tailored and Pull-On Shorts

Clean Pull-On Shorts in Linen-Cotton

This pair, the Clean Pull On Shorts, was one of my favorite finds from last year (I honestly just loved the color online and once they arrived, I REALLY loved the fit). These are a linen/cotton blend that has a tailored, flat front, that’s balanced with a stretchy, elastic waistline in the back that makes them easy to pull on and stay in all day.

The length is 3.5″, so while this would usually feel too short for me, the loose leg and high waist create the illusion that they’re longer than they are. I own these in a size XS and they fit true to size. Sadly, the pink is not available this year, but I love the tan linen for an everyday outfit.

Clean Button-Tab Shorts in 100% Linen

Similar to the pair above, the Clean Button-Tab Shorts in 100% Linen are an easy everyday pair of linen shorts. Except the Button-Tab adds a very polished touch that I love. I’ve had my eyes on the white pair for a few weeks and finally placed my order. I can’t wait for them to arrive! They have a 4″ inseam, and can be machine washed.

I’m planning to style them with this linen top (also from Madewell). If you’ve read my blog before, you know I’m a sucker for sets.

The Perfect Fatigue Mid-Length Short

I saw the dark plum color in these Mid-Length Fatigue Shorts last year and had to buy them. I love a utility/military style short that’s a touch more fun than normal. While last year’s shorts came in a 5″ length, this year’s style is a 3 1/2″ inseam, so they’ll be a bit shorter. They’re stretchy, which I love for a non-denim short, and they have a super flattering A-line shape.

The material is super soft, and they run very true to size (at least they did last year!!).

More to come as I find new favorites!

Recently on Instagram, I was asked, “If you could only shop in one place for the rest of your life, where would it be?” The answer to that question has changed a LOT over the past decade as my style as evolved. When I was living in Utah (I’m from there!), I was not as partial to the colorful, preppy, feminine brands that I saw on women in the South, but in the last few years, that’s what I’ve started gravitating towards. I guess that’s what living in the South for over a decade will do to you ;).

So, the answer to that question now? Hands down, Tuckernuck. I love almost every single thing they carry. If I am shopping at another retailer, and I’m not quite sure how I feel about any given item, I tend to ask myself, “Would Tuckernuck carry it?” and if the answer is yes, I feel confident in the style!  It’s impressive to me that their clothes are great for both 20-somethings and the almost 40-year-old mom like me. It’s classic, American and feminine – everything I want my style to be!

Tuckernuck has become my go-to for my closet and home and I have a handful of roundups on the blog:

The brand was started by Jocelyn Moore Gailliot, Madeline Moore, and September Rinnier in 2012. It has grown into huge online retailer since then. They source their womens clothes from only the best designers, and I’ve been introduced to some of my favorite brands through them.

10 Tuckernuck Tops

In today’s post, I’m rounding up my favorite blouses from their current selection. I haven’t had a chance to place an order yet this spring, but I have a VERY big cart built online after refreshing this blog post. I’m always looking for elevated tops to pair with jeans, my favorite denim shorts, and white jeans in the summer. Tuckernuck has such fun top options, but some are a little busy for my taste (they make sleeveless blouses with ruffled collars and bow backs, patterned tops with feather details, and of course leather and suede tops in the cooler months).

I like to stick to more simple styles, so here are the Tuckernuck tops I’m loving lately.

Black Eyelet Hastings Blouse

The tiny eyelet detail on this black Hastings blouse is so cute. It’s sheer but not see-through. I love that you can wear a regular bra without it truly showing through, but the texture adds some fun interest. The puff ruffled sleeves are pretty big, so I appreciate that the neckline is a v-neck to draw the eyes towards the chest instead of right out to the shoulders. This should be able to wear this all summer with dark jeans, denim shorts, or white jeans.

I got a size XS in this top and it runs true to size.

Blue Stripe Rae Blouse

I’ve always been someone who loves stripes, and this relaxed, ruffle collar striped top is so effortlessly chic. I love how it’s styled with dark wash denim on the website. However, I know I’d also wear it often with white jeans and even casual denim shorts. I also love the price tag (under $100). The high neck ruffle collar, short cap sleeves, and a button front placket make this the PERFECT popover blouse for spring and summer.

Ivory Americana Sweater

There’s nothing more me than this sweater. I love all things America, and this is such a tasteful sweater all year. I have the ivory version so that I can wear it in the summer. I’ve been surprised by just how much I’ve worn it! It’s pricey ($248.00) but since it’s a classic piece that I know I’ll wear forever, I don’t mind. It’s made with 100% cotton and I ordered an XS. It runs big, so size down or plan to wear it oversized. I love timeless, classic pieces that show my love for the United States!

If you love the look but don’t want this to be oversized, you will love the cropped version. It is SO cute, especially in the Beachwood color.

White Kaia Flutter Sleeve Tee

There’s nothing more useful to have in your closet than a feminine ruffle sleeve tank. It can be worn on its own with jean shorts or jeans, and it can also be tucked into a maxi skirt. I love that the ruffles stand out a bit and make a statement, but they aren’t overpowering or overwhelming for a petite frame. This top is under $100 and a classic you’ll wear into the ground. If you can make it work in your budget, get both the white and black.

If you’re nursing a baby right now (like me!), then opt for this similar option with a button down front neckline.

Paulina Top

I love that this Paulina top could be worn for work or dressed up for a night out! The button down front with a peplum detail is unique and polished (and I usually don’t like peplum!), and the fact that it’s sleeveless is another summer bonus. Unfortunately each colorway is sold out of a few sizes, but if you click through all three options, you’ll find your size in one of the colors.

I also really love this Strapless Noir Crepe Marin Top. It’s a great night-out option that can be toned down with a cashmere wrap or denim jacket. Similar to the Paulina, but a bit more sexy.

Selena Blouse

If the color is described as raspberry pink, I’m going to buy it. This Selena blouse is stunning. I love the stand-up collar, puff sleeves with elastic details, button front, and relaxed fit. This is another one of those shirts that works well for all day wear since you’ll be comfortable yet chic for every occasion. It looks great both untucked and tucked into pants. And it comes in a handful of colors, so if raspberry pink isn’t your thing, you’ll still find something you like. This Poppy Stripe Margot Top also has that same fun raspberry red color in it, but with a slightly more streamlined silhouette, if that’s more your style.

Floral Sleeve and White Shelby Tee

Have you ever seen a more feminine tee than this floral sleeve white tee? The floral puff sleeves are cute and frilly, while the rest of the tee is a classic slim fit. The material is cotton, so its lightweight, breathable, and easy to to dress up or down. I’d style this shirt with white jeans, my favorite denim shorts. Even a cute pair of overalls, if that’s your style.

Black Livia Puff Sleeve Top

I own this black Livia puff sleeve top and LOVE the material! It’s ribbed, which I didn’t realize until it arrived, and I’ve really liked that it’s different than the rest of the tops I own! I find that it feels more dressy than casual, so I usually pair it with longer jeans instead of denim shorts, but that’s totally preference. The puff sleeves add a really fun, feminine detail, and the v-neck makes it easy to style with my favorite everyday jewelry.

Lilac Clayton Long Sleeve Knit Polo

I love a lightweight summer sweater, especially for women who work in an office! It’s always freezing cold inside in the south during the south because everyone is blasting their AC, so a lightweight sweater like this Clayton Knit Polo is a great top to wear to work. I love this lilac color too (I’m on a big purple kick right now), and the fact that it’s just slightly cropped so that it will meet your work pants without needing a front-tuck.

Navy Veronica Top

A simple sleeveless tee is a closet essential for me. I really like the ruffle detail on the neckline of the Veronica top. It’s simple, not distracting, and can be worn easily with shorts or jeans. V-necks are always more flattering on me than a crewneck. So, I’m going to add a few colors to my cart.

That’s all I have today, but I’ll update this post if I spot other must-have Tuckernuck tops while I’m browsing.

I distinctly remember the first time Tommy, my then-boyfriend (now husband), invited me to the golf course. I had NO idea what to wear. Even though I played golf with friends in high school who were on the golf team, it was very casual, and I never even thought about what to wear. But when I was going to the country club with Tommy, I knew that it had a dress code, so I bought a tennis skirt from Athleta and snagged a collared shirt from Lilly Pulitzer.

Tommy and I continued to golf together while we were dating, after we got married and now we love to play golf as a family of fore (haha). We’ve played in Pinehurst, in Boone, in Utah, in California and even played on our babymoon at Primland. He is an amazing golfer (a scratch golfer, i.e. his handicap is zero) and I’ve been working on my game too. And, it’s really great quality time as a couple.

Now that I work for myself AND work from home, I try to get out and play a couple times a month (well, that was my goal before I had Charles — now I’m not playing golf quite as often), either with Tommy or with a friend. It’s crazy to think that most days I don’t see people other than my family and my nanny, so having something on the calendar helps me maintain some social skills.

What to Wear Golfing – Cute Options for Women

And, of course, another perk of golfing is the cute clothes I get to wear. One of the very common questions I hear is what to wear golding – especially cute options for women. Thankfully, there are definitely a lot more options these days that aren’t frumpy, ill-fitting and oversized like so many ladies’ golf clothes of the past. A few brands like Byrdie Golf Social Wear, Tuckernuck and Renwick have started selling cute, feminine, flattering options.

So today, I’m sharing some cute golf clothes for the warm weather ahead! A bonus is that many of these items are cute enough to wear as part of athleisure outfits too so they get worn off the course as well.

My Favorite Cute Golf Clothes for Women

Dresses

Dresses are my favorite thing to wear for golf. I appreciate that it’s only one item but creates an entire outfit, and I feel cute for the rest of the day after my round. If I’m wearing a collared shirt to a golf round, I’ll likely change out of it for the rest of my day, but that’s not the case when I wear a golf dress. In fact, I find that I’ll wear golf dresses even on days when I’m not playing because they make such cute athleisure looks! Here are a few of my favorite golf dresses.

Amazon Collared Golf Dress

This $35 golf dress meets all of my standards for a feminine golf outfit. First, it’s collared, and most golf courses that I’ve been to require collars, even for ladies. Second, it comes with shorts to pair with it underneath. I like that the shorts aren’t built into the dress since that makes restroom breaks difficult. Third, it comes in a handful of cute colors. The fit isn’t tight, but it’s also not baggy. I feel totally appropriate in the clubhouse as well as on the course.

When I bought this, small was their smallest size, so that’s what I have. Now that they carry XS, I’ll be ordering another color in that size since it’ll fit me just a little bit better.

Byrdie Social Wear Short Sleeve Hayden Dress

This green gingham golf dress looks like it should be worn to the Masters, doesn’t it. This brand is much more expensive than some golf clothes you can find on Amazon or at Dick’s Sporting Goods, but the styles are so good and unique. I love that this dress buttons down the front, making it nursing-friendly. And, the cute contrasting floral shorts are included. Button the dress all the way down, or wear it open at the bottom to show off the shorts.

Another winning feature: this dress has UPF 30+ built-in.

Speaking of the Masters, I have a blog post dedicated to what to wear there if you get to go this spring.

Tuckernuck Lisbon Piped Sterling Tennis Dress

Tuckernuck has their own line of activewear, and this Lisbon Piped Sterling Tennis Dress is the perfect option for golf or tennis. I love the classic relaxed fit with the feminine drop skirt. It’s polished, but easy to throw on over a sports bra and biker shorts.

Athleta Brooklyn Utility Romper

I’m including rompers in the dresses section since they serve the same purpose: one piece but an entire outfit. I love this Brooklyn Utility Romper from Athleta because it can be worn on and off the course. The style is feminine but sporty, the collar could probably be considered appropriate for most courses, and the quality has to be good since it’s from Athleta.

You could style this romper with a colorful golf hat and cute golf shoes!

Everyday Cloudful™ Air Fabric Dress

My Content Manager has three dresses from Halara and tells me all the time that the quality is SO good for the price! I’ve personally never ordered from Halara, but I plan to after seeing their cute golf dresses. This Everyday Cloudful Air Fabric Dress is VERY similar to the dress above from Lilly Pulitzer, but without the racer back (and large price tag).

Lily Pulitzer UPF 50+ Luxletic Cayo Costa Dress

I love a hot pink dress, and this golf dress from Lily Pulitzer is right up my alley. The striped collar, shirt dress fit, and UPF protection (50+!!) are the makings of a must-have golf dress.

Amazon Collared Short Sleeve Golf Dress

I wanted to include one more affordable golf dress from Amazon, and this time with sleeves. Not everyone is a fan of sleeveless dresses, and this is a perfect alternative. It comes in a ton of colors and has a really cute ruffled skirt. I also love that it has UPF 50+  built into it as well.

Golf Skirts

The next most worn items in my golf attire roundup are skirts (or actually, skorts). I have two favorites that I own, and I’ve included a few others I’m eyeing as well.

Amazon Pleated Golf Skirt

I wear this Amazon pleated skirt for errands even more often than for golf! I have the light pink color and it’s too cute to only save for the course. I love the length (not too short), the wide waistband, and the fact that it can get sweaty and you can’t tell.

SPANX Get Moving Skort

I am OBSESSED with this. It’s my favorite pick for warm weather golf and athleisure. It’s so flattering and comfortable. I’m wearing a size small. I love that Nordstrom carries it too, since I’m a cardholder and they have the best return policy. I wear an XS in this skirt, and you’ll see it styled below in a handful of photos.

SPANX Sunshine Skort

This Sunshine skort is a great option if you prefer shorts to skirts, but want to feel a little more feminine out on the course! The front wraps like a skirt, but the back is obviously shorts, which feels fun and unique. I will sing SPANX’s praises all day, so I feel confident you’d love this if you’re eyeing it.

PGA TOUR Women’s Airflux Skort

The PGA TOUR Women’s Airflux Skort is a great option if you prefer to stick to classic, simple styles without all of the frills. It’s traditional, flattering and definitely long enough! The price tag is also unbeatable, and you can choose from over 15 colors. It also has side pockets!

Tuckernuck Lisbon Stripe 14 Inch Pique Elena Tennis Skirt

This is the skirt version of the golf dress I included above. I love the blue stripe details, and I also love that it’s white, so you could wear so many different tops with it.

Golf Tops

Like I mentioned above, I prefer to wear tops and dresses with collars since that’s what most of our courses require. And even when a course doesn’t require ladies to wear collars, I feel more appropriate in one. If you’re new to golf and working on building out some outfits, I’d recommend just one good white collared shirt. It can be sleeveless or not, but I truly think you can get buy with just one.

Over time, you may want to get a few in other colors, some with sleeves, some without, and maybe a few fun patterned tops, but I prefer to spend my money on cute skorts to pair with one white top. While it’s pricey, the best one I’ve ever found is from Peter Millar (linked below). They’re known for their mens golf wear, but they also make women’s, and the quality and fit is unmatched.

Peter Millar Sleeveless Polo

This sleeveless Peter Millar polo is my #1 pick for summer golf. It comes in a zippered version too which I also love. The material is best in class. You will not regret splurging on this top if you plan to play golf more than just once! I wear an XS in Peter Millar tops.

Peter Millar Short-Sleeve Polo

This is the short sleeved version of the top above, if you prefer a little shoulder coverage. You can’t go wrong with either. I wear an XS in Peter Millar tops.

Amazon White Polo Shirt

If you know you’ll only play golf once or twice, then this Amazon polo may be your best bet. I can’t speak to the quality, but it’s a good budget option that’ll work for a few rounds. The reviews look good, it comes in a bunch of colors, and it has Prime shipping. Win, win, win!

Ladies Golf Shoes

Golf shoes are a great investment if you plan to play a lot. Get one pair that can work with most of your outfits. It’s also easier to get different tops than multiple pairs of shoes! I usually wear my Sam Edelman loafers to the golf course before changing into golf shoes. And I always size up half to a full size in my golf shoes like I do with my running shoes since feet expand with activity, especially if you’re walking vs. riding in a cart. I’ve tried seven different pairs of golf shoes over the years and have finally found the best one the market. Im sharing those, along with a few cute pairs I’ve seen recently, in case you’re more partial to those.

True LinksWear golf shoes

These are far and away the cutest AND the most comfortable golf shoes I’ve owned. Other golf shoes pinched my toes, made my plantar fasciitis act up and also weren’t that cute. These are comfortable, even walking 9 or 18 holes, are breathable and are so cute and comfy that I often leave them on for the rest of the day because I just forget to change out of them! With other golf shoes in the past, I couldn’t wait to get them off. True Linkswear are true to size, but if you’re between sizes, size up.

Allbirds Golf Dashers

I didn’t know Allbirds made golf shoes until I was updating this post! I used to have a pair of their Tree Runners and MAN they were comfortable.

Golf accessories for ladies

A cute visor or hat will complete your golf look. I highly recommend getting a golf hat with a ladies fit, since it will look and feel so much better on your head. Unisex or men’s hats typically sit low on the crown of your head and may have to go over your ears, which is never ideal. And also make sure to grab some sunglasses too! This visor is my absolute favorite for golfing so if you get just one, invest in this!

I also think a belt bag of some kind is a nice accessory for golf. I don’t take my entire purse with me, but I like to have my phone, keys, cardholder, and a lipgloss on me while I’m in the golf cart. This Byrdie Social Wear belt bag is a collaboration with J.Lowery (one of my favorite bag brands) and it’s the perfect golf accessory. And if you’re headed to the Masters, it’s perfect since it meets the small bag requirement!

And hey, even if you have an off day on the golf course, you’ll feel better about if you feel cute, right? Right.

If you’ve never invested in nice PJs, I’m going to convince you that it’s time. And if you’re already a fan of luxurious pajamas, then you must try LAKE.

I was introduced to LAKE Pajamas when I was newly postpartum with my first son, Thomas. For years, I never purchased actual pajamas, but instead just slept in workout clothes or ratty old t-shirts. Then, I finally bought true pajamas when I became a mom (I needed something that was easy to nurse in) and liked them, but wasn’t in love with anything. Then, I finally tried LAKE Pajamas and I’m now a pajamas snob. I had no idea what I was missing until I finally caved in and purchased a pair for myself. (And yes, they are are a splurge, especially if you haven’t bought real pajamas before.)

I kept hearing people talk about LAKE Pajamas on Instagram, and when I finally decided to give them a try, I wanted to kick myself for not giving in earlier and wasting money on other brands. They are worth the hype.

If you’re anything like I was, and not sure what the hype is all about, or maybe you’ve decided you want to get a pair of pajamas, but you’re not sure which ones, then I’ve got you covered in this post. I’m going to share my honest review, the sets that are worth buying, how to take care of them, and what size to order.

LAKE Pajamas Review: The Softest Pajamas You’ll Ever Sleep In

My Review of Lake Pajamas

If you’ve read through the intro of this post, you know I adore LAKE Pajamas. I wish I had known about them sooner, but I’m so thankful I discovered them when I had Thomas so that I could appreciate them in my early postpartum days!

Here are the key takeaways:

Pros:

  • Incredible fabrics that are so soft and comfortable to sleep in
  • Cute patterns and styles – pima cotton is my current favorite but I loved dream knit when pregnant. i also LOVE the new shorts set I got (not sure of the fabric and it’s not on the site yet… should be this week)
  • Matching sets with kiddos, which is cute
  • Flattering on all body types and heights. I’m 5’1″ and love the same sets as my content manager who is 5’6″.

Cons:

  • Most sets need to be hung to dry or else they WILL shrink. Even if you dry once to intentionally shrink, they seems to keep shrinking even you dry again
  • Dream Knit is super soft but stretches out to a weird shape and is really not flattering up top
  • Kids sets run very small

If I could recommend one set, it would be the Pima Bundle, so that you can try the shorts and the pants. Get your true size, unless you plan to dry them in the dryer or like your PJs a little roomier. Otherwise, stick to your traditional sizing and wash them on a delicate, cold cycle. If you get TWO sets, get the Alice shorts set, and do your true size for those.

Lake Pajamas Sizing

One of the most common questions I get when I share LAKE Pajamas on social media is about sizing. Since you don’t typically wear PJs out of the house (but hey, I’m not judging if you do — okay, actually I am), sizing is more forgiving than with other clothes. However, LAKE isn’t cheap, so you’ll want to be sure to get the size that fits you best to get the most out of your pajamas.

In general, LAKE runs true to size. When they arrive, they’ll seem a tad large (and maybe a little long), and that’s because LAKE is accounting for a little shrinkage in the wash. Super soft material like that of pima cotton typically shrinks in the first wash, so LAKE accounts for it in their sizing. Don’t worry if your PJs seem a little big at first.

I get an XS or S in every pair that I buy. The pima cotton sets have shrunk, especially in length for the pants, but tops fit perfectly, or perhaps even a little large. The pants are designed to be slightly cropped, so if you want them to be full length, hang dry them. I always get a small in Pima Cotton knowing that they’ll shrink a little. The other sets I’ve ordered from LAKE — namely the DreamKnit — haven’t shrunk quite as much, and I get an XS in these.

The Best LAKE Pajamas Products

Okay, now let’s talk about the pajamas themselves.

Pima Bundle

The Pima Bundle was my very first set of LAKE Pajamas. The bundle comes with a short sleeve top, pair of shorts, and a pair of pants, so you can have the best of both worlds. Most of my Pima sets are size Small, but I recently purchased Medium (pictured below) to accommodate my growing bump. But, pre-pregnancy, size Small was perfect after they shrunk just a little to fit me perfectly. These are truly some of the softest cotton pajamas I’ve ever felt. They have an almost silky-like cotton feel. You know when something feels so soft that it almost feels cool to the touch? Yep, that’s the feeling you get when you put these on.

This bundle comes in two colors. The set pictured below unfortunately doesn’t come in a bundle, but it’s the same style as the long pants and top that will come in your bundle, so I’m including here! The block print below is sadly no long available.

Pima Ruffle Tank Short Set

This ruffled tank set is the same material as the set above, but in a slightly more feminine cut that I LOVE for summer. I wear a size small in this style. There are a few colorways available right now.

Pima Short Long Weekend Set

This set of Pajamas is VERY similar to the first Pima set I linked, but the shape of the Short Long Weekend Set is a little boxier. Instead of a wider boatneck, this set features a true crewneck. I love both and they’re just as comfortable as one another. It’s all about your style preference.

Pima Ruffle Nightgown

I’m not traditionally a nightgown person, but the Pima Ruffle Nightgown actually changed my mind. It’s loose and breathable, feminine and flattering, and most of all, the softest cotton ever. I wear an XS in this style since I’m not concerned with the length getting a tad shorter in the dryer. This is a great option for maternity since the straps pull down easily, but you can also find maternity specific pajamas online at LAKE. And I have LOVED this nightgown postpartum since it’s so easy to nurse in and doesn’t irritate my C-section scar.

Pima Scalloped Robe

Along with the Pima nightgown, I love the pima scalloped robe for a lightweight option. It’s perfect for warm days and breastfeeding, and the scalloped version is a little longer than some of their other pima robes which I prefer. I get my true size in this robe since it’s more forgiving.

DreamKnit Ribbon Tank-Long Set

This DreamKnit Pants set is my favorite LAKE PJ addition. This is my favorite material that they make, and it does not shrink, so I get an XS. I find that I reach for these most often because I’m loving a tank with pants these days. Right now it comes in the most beautiful green floral pattern.

DreamKnit Nightgown

This is my most recent order from LAKE – their DreamKnit Emma Nightgown in Meadow Bouquet. The colorway is gorgeous, and the midi length is great for wearing around the house since I don’t have to worry about it being too short.

DreamKnit Kimono Pajama Set

I got this DreamKnit Kimono Set a couple of years ago and it’s definitely my cutest set. The top wraps up and has an interior tie to keep it secure so you can either wear it on it’s own or wear it with a tank. I got this set in an XS and it has not shrunk like the Pima Cotton sets. DreamKnit is a super soft material that has a more drapey feeling than the Pima Cotton. The pants have and wide leg and elastic waistband (just like all LAKE Pajamas). I do wish it came with regular tank and not only the kimono top since that’s not comfortable to sleep in.

woman wearing DreamKnit Kimono Pajama Set from LAKE Pajamas

Alice Seersucker Shorts Set

This blue and white stripe Alice set is the newest addition to my LAKE collection. It’s breathable and airy, lightweight, and super cute. I like that it doesn’t lay tightly on top so you can wear it throughout the kitchen in mornings without feeling underdressed. I have a size medium, but I should have gotten a small.

Relax Shorts Set

I love the darker blue color of this Relax Short set. It’s part of their “lounge” collection. I don’t sleep in it since it’s a bit heavier fabric but it’s perfect for lazy days. I have this set in an XS.

Relax Pants Set

The Relax Pants set is the coziest lounge set ever. I have worn it non-stop over the last few weeks since it’s such a great postpartum set. I have this in a small because I ordered it while pregnant, but an XS would fit better now.

Cozy Robe in French Blue

The LAKE Cozy Robe is named rather perfectly. I got this around Mother’s Day this past year and it was one of my favorite gifts ever. But I don’t wear it while I’m getting ready since it feels a little too nice to ruin everyday with makeup (I have a terry robe from Weezie that I wear when I’m getting ready), but still wear my LAKE robe daily. I put it on in first thing in the chilly mornings while I drink my coffee, and I wear it every night as I’m watching a show or reading. It’s a perfect gift to give for birthdays, Mother’s Day or Christmas.

I love the traditional turndown collar, a sewn-in belt (THANK YOU!) and the large pockets in the side of the robe.

Collaboration Sets

I love that Lake has limited edition sets every so often where they collaborate with other designers and creatives for super unique patterns and prints. While the sets that we have from past collaborations are now sold out, I’ll share a few photos to give you a sense for the fun patterns they have every so often!

Sadly this green henley set sold out.

Men’s LAKE Pajamas

While Tommy wouldn’t likely wear a full PJ set, I did get him these Pajama pants last year (and got my brother in law a pair this year!), and he LOVES them. They’re SO much softer than guys are used to!

What are LAKE Pajamas?

Before I tell you which pairs you need (all of them, ahem), let me give you a little background. The company was started by two friends: Cassandra Cannon and Anne Read Lattimore, while they were looking for PJs that met their dream requirements. They wanted a set that was stylish AND comfortable. They weren’t looking for sexy sleepwear, and they wanted something better than their old T-shirts. So they founded LAKE to create classic pajamas that were softer than anything on the market.

Since their start, they’ve garnered coverage on large media platforms like Forbes, Town & Country, Vouge, and the WSJ.

LAKE is known well for their signature 100% Peruvian Pima Cotton fabric that feels unlike anything in your closet. My fabric fabric is their DreamKnit fabric (which also doesn’t shrink, like their pima cotton sets).

Where is LAKE pajamas based?

LAKE is based in Savannah, Georgia and is primarily e-commerce. However, there are two brick and mortar stores in Atlanta and Charleston. I got to stop into the Charleston location on a “mini vacation” weekend last winter and it’s even better than I’d imagined. I could have bought everything and it’s just such a beautiful space.

Do LAKE pajamas run small?

Nope! However, like I mentioned, their Pima Cotton sets shrink in the wash. When your PJs arrive, they will fit true to size. And if you don’t plan to put them in the dryer, you can order your true size for every fabric. If you wash and dry the Pima or Cotton Poplin sets, they will shrink. DreamKnit will not.

  • Pima Cotton Sets will shrink, size up if you plan to wash and dry.
  • DreamKnit Sets will not shrink, get your true size.
  • Cotton Poplin will shrink, size up one size.

When does LAKE Pajamas have sales?

The fabulous Lake Pajamas Annual Sale happens each year around President’s Day Weekend, and LAKE just announced the dates: February 20-23 (and rumor has it, if you join their text messaging list, you get to shop a day early). The discounts will be up to 50% off, and I am confident that sizes will go VERY fast.

They discounts throughout other parts of the year, but I’d encourage you not to wait to buy a set, even at full price– treat yourself now and thank me later. You can get 10% off code for your first order by signing up for their email and text list, so that’s the best way to save a little money if there isn’t a sale happening.

LAKE Pajamas care instructions

The best way to care for your pajamas is to wash them with similar colors on a delicate cycle. They recommend laying your PJs flat to dry (but let’s be real, who has time for that). You’ll definitely extended the wear of the set if you do as they say, though.

Where to buy LAKE Pajamas

You can order LAKE online (they have free shipping over $50, and all of the PJs, except kids, are over $50, ha!), or you can stop into one of their stores in Atlanta or

I hope you’ll order a pair of LAKE Pajamas and tell me what you think. If you already own and love LAKE, tell me in the comments below!

Abercrombie and Fitch has shocked me this past year with their great-fitting jeans for women in their 30s. Here’s a look at my favorite pair and how it compares to my other jeans.

Be sure to follow me on the LTK app to see my daily outfits. If you’re not sure how to use the app, watch this short reel!

When I was growing up, Abercrombie & Fitch jeans were the very last thing I would wear. Every time I tried them on, they were WAY too small (even my correct size) which put a bad taste in my mouth, especially as a teenager. Now that I’m in my late 30’s, I decided to try them one more time after seeing someone post about them on Instagram. The verdict? OBSESSED.

I was so surprised by these jeans and SHOCKED by how well they fit my petite frame without needing to be tailored since they come in multiple lengths. They are truly a perfect fit! Now I shop at Abercrombie more regularly and find GREAT stuff there.

I’ve been on the hunt the last few years for some on-trend non-skinny jeans, since I’m preferring a looser “mom-fit” more these days. I find it’s more comfortable and more flattering, but if you feel great in skinny jeans, rock them! Who cares what gen-z says on tiktok about skinny jeans? 😉

But as a petite 5’1″ woman, it’s difficult to find mom-jeans that don’t look frumpy, swallow my frame or look like flare, wide leg pants. Enter the Abercrombie Ultra High-Rise Ankle Straight Jeans. So good that I now own nine pairs – 5 different styles and some styles in multiple washes.

In this post I’m showing side by side comparisons with a few other brands of jeans I own so that you can see how good they really are stacked up against designer denim as well as Madewell. I also have to note that if you’re expecting, Abercrombie has some of the very best maternity jeans EVER. I did a full review on my favorite maternity jeans here, but today I’m talking about non-maternity jeans since that’s what the majority of you are shopping for.

Also, I have a video review that includes the Abercrombie Jeans if you prefer to watch rather than read.

Ready? Let’s dive in.

The Best Abercrombie Jeans + sizing tips and how they compare to other brands

My Review of Abercrombie Jeans

First, let’s break down a few basics. Keep in mind that all of the information I’m sharing is from pre-pregnancy!

Do Abercrombie Jeans Run True To Size?

The sizing at Abercrombie must have changed because when I was in high school and middle school, trying on Abercrombie jeans was a traumatizing experience. I would have to try on sizes that were 4-6 sizes larger than my typical size to even get them on my body, which is a teenager’s nightmare. Now, I don’t really care about sizes but just ordered what fits since brands vary so much.

However, Abercrombie jeans ARE true to size now, so toss that teenager dressing room trauma out the window. I wear a 25 or a 26, and the 26s are perfect on me. The 25s work but are tighter in the waist, of course. (For detailed sizing reference, I’m 5’1″, 115ish lbs, and wear a 26). If you are between sizes, I’d try sizing up in Abercrombie jeans, but in general, keep your normal size!

They have size ranges from 23W to 37W.

Another thing that I LOVE about Abercrombie jeans is that they come in four different lengths:

  • Extra short
  • Short
  • Regular
  • Long.

Being 5’1″, having shorter options makes a huge difference since regular jeans don’t always look the same after I’ve had them altered. (BTW, getting your jeans tailored to you is a sure-fire way to get more wear out of them). I order the Short length (I have a short torso!) and I own both size 25 and size 26, which is true to size with the other brands of jeans I wear (Madewell, Paige, and Mother).

Also, Abercrombie and Fitch has stores in most cities (even Winston-Salem which notoriously has not-great shopping options), so if shopping in-store is an option for you, you can go try on a few pairs.

I ordered the “short” length for my first pair and it hit right above my ankle bone, which is exactly what I was going for. However, my two pair that do not have distressing are a little shorter for some reason. I like the length for those, especially with my short boots,  but keep that in mind when you’re shopping.

Here is the length chart from the A&F website.

Abercrombie jeans length chart

What is the difference between regular and curve love fit?

It’s also worth noting that in Abercrombie’s efforts to be more inclusive in their sizing, they introduced a Curve Love fit. This fit features an additional 2″ through the hip and thigh for a little extra room to help eliminate the waist gap. Since I discovered the Curve Love Fit, it’s what I’ve been ordering since I have muscular glutes and quads and I find that fit is a lot more comfortable and flattering.

You can see a side-by-side comparison below. The one on the left is the regular fit and the one on the right is the Curve Love. They’re the exact same style and same size, but you can see the extra room near the top of my thighs in the pair on the right. It’s more comfortable and more flattering. I can wear the regular fit as well, which is great since most of my older pairs are regular fit, but they’re just tighter.

Abercrombie and Fitch Ultra High-Rise Ankle Straight Jean

Like I mentioned above, I had been on the hunt for straight leg jeans with a mom-fit style for a while. I didn’t want anything too baggy, since that’s not necessarily my style, but I wanted something that was cropped above my ankle with a looser fit at the bottom, that would still hug my booty enough on top. And I definitely wanted high waist. I don’t care that low waist jeans are coming back on trend. Hard pass on that for me.

Here is my list of wants in a pair of the perfect jeans:

  • high waist / high-rise jeans
  • option of a short length
  • slight distressing
  • loose-fitting on bottom, snug on the butt, thigh area, and hip area (sort of like mom jeans!)
  • not stretchy – I prefer the structure of true denim

And the Ultra Rise Ankle Straight Jeans hit the mark on all of those things and was the first pair of Abercrombie jeans I purchased, a little over 3 years ago. In this style, I originally ordered one pair that was distressed. Now I own two black pairs (one distressed, one without distressing) as well. The jeans cost $99 and go on sale often, which is a great deal compared to many pair of jeans that I own in the $175-$225 range.

This style also comes in the Curve Love Fit of the Ultra High Rise Ankle Straight Jean

Side-By-Side Comparison

First, let’s compare the different washes I have in the Abercrombie and Fitch Ultra High-Rise Ankle Straight Jean. I want you to see a comparison of every angle to get a sense for how flattering they are!

The first photos show the original pair I got in Medium Destroy Wash, and the photos below show a Washed Grey (not available anymore but this pair is similar) and a black distressed wash that’s no longer made. They’re all so flattering, and they look like the perfect pair of “throw-on” jeans.

Ultra High Rise 90s Straight Jeans

If you’re looking for a more vintage feel when it comes to your straight leg jeans, you should try the 90’s straight jeans. They’re similar to the pair I’m wearing above, but they have a full length leg and slightly frayed hem. They are also super high-rise, and not copped like the pair I’m wearing above.

I LOVE the length and the relaxed feel. They have a stiffer – more vintage feeling – shape, which is fun too.

This style also comes in the Curve Love fit of the Ultra High Rise 90s Straight Jean.

One of my favorite “washes” from last year is back again this year, and I’m so excited. I looked high and low for a pair of leather pants this past winter and these black jeans with leather details were the most fun find ever! (I’ve also reviewed leather pants from Abercrombie in a separate post, if you’re looking for more details on that style.)

Ultra High Rise Flare Jean

This pair of flare jeans is also a great find. This pair has an ultra high rise and a full length leg. The flare begins at the knee and flares out dramatically toward the bottom. They have a really nice amount of stretch making them super comfortable. I’m wearing a size 25 in the short length.

Strangely, there are a couple different listings of these jeans online with different washes. You can see the black and dark blue wash flares here, and the flares in the light wash + two other blue washes here.

This style comes in the Curve Love fit of the Ultra High Rise Stretch Flare Jean.

How Abercrombie jeans compare to other brands

I have two other absolute favorite pair of jeans when it comes to this style: MOTHER Crop Step and Madewell’s Perfect Vintage pair. Let’s compare.

comparison of Abercrombie, Mother, and Madewell jeans

Vs. MOTHER Insider Crop Step

The MOTHER Insider Crop Step is another favorite of mine. You can see from the photo above that they’re slightly snug in the upper leg and then have a small flare at the bottom. MOTHER denim tends to be stretchier and much pricer at $228.

I feel like the MOTHER jeans are more polished than the Abercrombie, so that’s something to note while shopping. Abercrombie feels stiffer, like true denim, rather than stretchy. This is all preference, but stiffer denim holds its structure really well, and it gets more comfortable over time, which I love. I almost never wash them, unless Thomas gets food or poop on them. Mom life. 😉

Overall, I love both styles (stretchy and non-stretchy), but wear them for different looks.

Vs. Madewell Perfect Vintage

The Madewell Perfect Vintage jean is similar to Abercrombie in price ($128 and less when on sale), but I don’t think they look as good. Madewell looks looser and a little slouchier. The top half of the jeans is less fitted than Abercrombie, which I don’t like as much. I wear the Petite size in Madewell, and they are still a little too long on me. I love that the Abercrombie jeans hit right at the ankle in the short length. It’s so rare to find jeans that aren’t too long on me!

I have a full blog post revieiwng Madewell jeans as well.

Abercrombie Jeans Review: Bottom Line

I LOVE THESE JEANS. I work from home but get “ready” every single day, and Abercrombies jeans are the ones I pull out of my closet to wear 90% of the time. There’s something so nice about having a pair of jeans that fits perfectly and looks good from every angle. If you’re on the fence, just order them to try. I’ve noticed that Abercrombie has sales frequently. I’ve also noticed that while they do sell out of sizes frequently, they always restock.

Happy shopping!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: TUCKERNUCK SAMPLE SALE TIME! I scoured the sale to find the best picks to add to your cart.

I’m a HUGE Tuckernuck fan. My style has evolved a lot over the last decade, and Tuckernuck seems to be the place I shop most now. When I lived in Utah, I wasn’t drawn many preppy, feminine patterns and styles, but over the last few years, that’s definitely become more my style. Tuckernuck offers a very classic, American style, and I love almost everything on their website.

Over the last few years, I’ve rounded up my favorites:

And while Tuckernuck has a variety of price points, I do tend to feel like it’s on the pricey side when compared to places like J.Crew or the brands I like on Nordstrom, so sales are super helpful. Lucky for me (and now you!), their annual Sample Sale starts today (1/23)!

The sale is 50-80% off select items, and everything is final sale (this reminds me of traditional warehouse sales). While I usually opt out of buying anything final sale, I’ve learned that this is the best time to snag the pieces I’ve had my eyes on for the past few months. And, Tuckernuck does a good job of noting what size the model is wearing in their photos which makes picking your size a bit easier. Keep that in mind when you’re ordering. The prices are as marked, so no code is needed.

Since the sale is huge (and somewhat overwhelming), I wanted to make sure I shared my favorite picks in case you are planning to shop. So without further ado, here are my favorite items from Tuckernuck’s Sample Sale!

My Top Picks from the Tuckernuck Sale

Black Catherine Shirt Dress

I own this Catherine Shirt Dress in light blue denim and love it. The fit is relaxed and oversized, and I wear an XS. Black is the perfect color for year round wear, and very office-appropriate. It’s sort of a desert-island dress, where you’re covered for anything that might require a dress.

Annie Smocked Dress

I own the White Annie Smocked Dress and have worn it non-stop two summers in a row. The fit is true to size and the top is stretchy which makes it nursing and pregnancy friendly. I am ordering the black version myself.

Navy Suzanne Tennis Dress

I love anything that blends sporty and chic. Since I’m always running after a toddler (and will have another one in tow very soon), athleisure tends to be the way I’m dressing theses days. This tennis dress will be great for the golf course and everything else. There are no built-in shorts (I hate built in short, actually), so I’ll wear my favorite Amazon biker shorts underneath.

Orchid Pink Finley Flutter Sleeve Dress

I have almost ordered this Orchid Pink Finley Flutter Sleeve dress many times, and today is the day I finally do it. I can tell it runs big, so I’m getting their smallest size and I can’t wait to wear this spring and summer!

White Tory Flutter Sleeve Top

This white flutter sleeve tee is such an elevated white tee that you can style with any jeans or shorts. Ordering!

Ecru Clayton Knit Polo

The Ecru Clayton Knit Polo is nursing friendly and cozy for the next few months and into spring with white jeans.

Lattice Plaid Woven Renee Golf Skirt

I ordered this $29 plaid woven golf skirt for future spring golf outings.

Red and Pink White Hayden Top

This red and pink stripe Hayden top is the perfect Valentine’s Day shirt. Also comes in short sleeve!

Oxford White Sleeveless Royal Shirt Dress

I have a version of this Oxford Sleeveless Royal Shirt Dress but with a slightly different fabric/pattern, but the shape is SO classic and easy to wear. It feels appropriate for everything.

Loeffler Randall Champagne Bow Heeled Sandals

Seeing Loeffler Randall on sale is shocking. These Champagne Bow Heeled Sandals are so beautiful and something you can wear with any dressy outfit. The color is perfect since it can go more gold or more silver.

Mini Royal Shirt Dress

I own this Mini Royal Shirt Dress in royal blue and love that it’s such an easy dress to wear when I’m not sure what to wear. It can be casual, dressy, maternity or nursing friendly, and totally appropriate for the office.

Black Cassia Dress

This Black Cassia Dress is nursing and postpartum friendly! I love a dress like this because it makes me feel really cute, but I’m also super comfortable and can wear a nursing bra with it.

Washed Pink Americana Sweater

Every time I wear my cream American Flag sweater, someone asks about it. The pink one is on sale! I love the light blue 1/4 zip version too.

Orchid Vesna Dress

Got a Valentine’s Dress already? If not, look no further than this Orchid Vesna Dress.

I originally bought the Barrington Gifts St. Anne Tote to carry my laptop to and from my coworking space, but even since I moved back to working from home full time, I still use it! It can hold a LOT but even if it’s not overfilled, it still looks structured. And I’m especially fond of the price (more on that below!), since I’m not a person who buys purses often. Rather, I prefer to have a few that I can rotate among for all four seasons and in a few different sizes. This tote is the perfect option for traveling or carrying your work things.

In today’s post I’m reviewing this Barrington St. Anne Tote and a few other products I love from the same brand (which is Dallas-Based, BTW). I now own three products from Barrington and I wish I had bought matching patterns for all three, so that’s something to think through if you think you’ll eventually buy more than one Barrington bag. (Trust me, after you see the quality, you’ll want to!)

Okay, let’s jump in.

Barrington Gifts St.Anne Tote Review

Barrington Gifts St. Anne Tote Review

It’s the perfect size – big but not overwhelming

I hesitated to get this tote since I don’t typically love an oversized tote. When I saw in other women carrying large totes, they always seemed like a black hole of stuff. But this tote is large without feeling like a magic bag with no end. It’s large enough for my laptop, charger, a couple regular purse items, and a few snacks (necessities for me). The dimensions of the St. Anne tote from Barrington Gifts are 20″L X 13″H X 5″D.

I opted for the non-zip top but they sell a zippered option as well.

Barrington Gifts non-zip tote

Exterior fabric stays clean and is very durable

The Barrington Gifts St. Anne Tote is made of durable, water-resistant nylon canvas with leather accents. The interior is twill. I especially appreciate that the Axis collection (the pattern I have) is not faux or genuine fur, since that would a nightmare to keep clean.

And while I was worried the nylon canvas might make it feel cheap, that’s not the case at all. It looks and feels very high quality and I love that if I spill on it (which happens a lot), I can easily wipe if off.

Another perk is that is weighs less than 2lbs which is really lightweight for a tote of this size.

Can you wash Barrington Bags?

Barrington recommends you take a small amount of powder detergent, such as Oxy-Clean, mix it with warm water and use a clean toothbrush to scrub the soiled area. They also say you can use wipes such as “wet-ones” on the printed part of the bag. It’s totally fine to scrub the printed part, since this is a nylon canvas material. I’d stay away from the leather parts, though.

More affordable than many popular totes

The St. Anne tote costs about $200, depending on the customizations you add. (More on that below.) A new Louis Vuitton Neverfull tote costs $1,500 and a Tory Burch leather tote costs around $500. So immediately, the Barrington bag has those beat.

Super customizable

I love that Barrington Gifts lets you pick the pattern of your bag with 50 options (I know, FIFTY!). And you can also add your monogram to a leather patch, add a stripe or choose to get a tote with a top zipper.

Interior pockets

The Barrington Gifts St. Anne tote has a few pockets inside of it which are absolutely crucial if you’re bad about throwing everything you own in your purse. I appreciate having pockets so that I don’t have to dig into the tote to find something. Even though I’m not the person who crams my purse full of things, I appreciate the organization. And I love that it’s also big enough for a diaper bag organizer.

I use my Freshly Picked diaper backpack most days right now since my hands are full with a two year old, but when I’m going to a coffee shop to work or have a meeting, this is the bag I always grab! It fits my laptop, no problem.

Makes a great gift

I gave a Barrington Gifts tote to both my mom and mother-in-law for Mother’s Day. It’s perfect for any age and not too trendy, especially since I was able to customize each tote! Since it’s also under $200, it’s a great price point for a nice gift.

St. Anne Tote vs. Savannah Tote

I eyed both options and ended up getting the larger St. Anne Tote. But, I got my mom the Savannah Tote since she definitely doesn’t like an oversized tote. The Savannah Tote only comes in a zipper top, and the dimensions are a bit smaller.

St. Anne dimensions: 20″L X 13″H X 5″D

Savannah dimensions: 17.5″L X 12″H X 5″D

The Savannah has an exterior zip pocket, while the St. Anne does not. They both have the same interior pockets – one large zip pocket and four slide pockets. And with both, you can  choose between a patch or a stripe on your pattern.

Other Barrington bags

The St. Anne Diaper Bag

This St. Anne Diaper bag is just like the tote I have above, but is made with a few more pockets which are great for holding bottles, diapers, wipes, and all the other essentials. I like that you can customize these because they have a couple really cute patterns that are pale pink and pale blue. Perfect if you wanted to grab one based on your baby’s gender. If I was new to Barrington and didn’t already have the other tote, I might get this (even if you don’t need a diaper bag!) since it has great interior storage!

I do highly recommend this Freshly Picked diaper backpack too. That’s what I’ve used most for Thomas.

Barrington Gifts St.Anne Tote Review

Catherine Crossbody

I LOVE the look of this crossbody bag. The fact that the exterior is a bit structured looks more polished than many cross body bags. And I like the gold hardware accents!

Weekender Bags

The Captain’s Bag

I bought the Captain’s Bag as a weekender and also used it as my hospital bag! See what I packed in it here. The size is great for a few nights away – not huge but not small either. The exact dimensions are 21″L X 14″H X 10″D. See it beside my feet here:

Hospital bag packing list for mom, baby and dad
The Belmont Cabin Bag

The Belmont Cabin Bag is such a gorgeous travel duffle bag. The dimensions are slightly smaller than the Captain’s Bag (21″L X 12″H X 10″D), but the shape is a more traditional duffle size.  Like all of Barrington bags, you get to customize the outside. You could get a similar pattern to your St. Anne tote to create a cute travel set.

Hanging Toiletry Kit

A hanging toiletry kit is a must-have for me. I really wish I’d bought it years ago, when I was flying multiple times a month, every month. I HATE fiddling around for skincare and makeup or worrying that something will break. This kit has multiple pockets, folds unfolds neatly, and helps protect my skincare products. I branched out and got this one in a blue Zebra stripe pattern.

Buchanan 15″ Laptop Case

I love how sleek this laptop case looks and it’d fit perfectly inside my St. Anne to keep my laptop free of scratches or scuffs.

Barrington Gifts for Men

I’m always looking for gifts to give Tommy and my brothers. The Barrington gift’s men’s selection is SO impressive. It’s all genuine leather and looks so sharp.

Croc Original Money Clip

This Croc Money Clip is very practical (and very handsome) gift for guys.

St. James Expandable Folio

This Expandable Folio is a super handsome gift for any men in your life who work at an office or need to carry files back and forth between the office and working from home these days. It’s such a gorgeous leather too.

Men’s Captain’s Bag

If you’re looking to splurge on a really nice gift, go for this Captain’s bag. For a guy, I’d order the 100% genuine leather bag – it’s so gorgeous.

I’ll be saving these ideas for Christmas gifts (hard to believe we’ll be Christmas shopping in just a few months!!!) And in the meantime, maybe I’ll just buy myself another tote in another pattern. 😉
